1. I live far from Augusta, how can I do business with you?

2. How can I make deposits to my account?
MECU belongs to the Shared Branch network with over 30 credit locations statewide and over 1800 across the country. For an updated list of locations click the Shared Branch link on our home page. With direct deposit and payroll deduction, your employer can deposit your paychecks to your accounts with us. You can deposit to your account using your CU24 ATM or Visa Check Card at selected CU24 ATM Terminals throughout Maine. You may also mail deposits to us at P.O. Box 1096, Augusta, ME 04332-1096 or use our secure night depository at either branch location - 15 University Dr. and 60 So. Chestnut St. in Augusta.

3. Where is your office located?
Maine Education Credit Union is located at 15 University Drive in Augusta. Take I-95 Exit 112A/B, then look for the main entrance to the Augusta Civic Center. Turn left onto University Drive and the Credit Union is the 2nd building on the left. Our branch office is on 60 So. Chestnut St. in Augusta - just off Western Avenue across from Friendly's restaurant.

4. Who can become a member of the Credit Union?
If you live, work, worship or attend school in Kennebec or Somerset County; or if you're employed in the field of education and eligible for membership in the Maine Education Association, you can become a member of the credit union. We also service a number of select employee groups. Family members are also eligible.

5. How much do you finance on a car loan?
100% of the cars value.

6. Do I have to fill in loan papers?
Yes, a loan application is required but all necessary paper work can be completed over the phone and through the mail. You can also apply online using our 10 Second Loan Approval and get an immediate response.

7. How long does it take to get a loan?
Once the loan papers are received completed and signed, it takes one hour to process the application.

8. What kinds of loans do you offer?
We will make a loan for any reason you can imagine - computers, vacations, automobiles, home improvements, mortgages, credit card consolidation, as well as all types of recreational vehicles. Once your credit has been reviewed and approval received, you do what you want with the proceeds.

9. Can I get a pre-approval on a loan?
Yes. All we need is your permission to process a credit check and one hour.

10. Can I conduct all my financial affairs at the Credit Union?
Yes, The Maine Education Credit Union is a full service financial institution.
